Visit Uttaradit

Uttaradit is a small city in northern Thailand, near the Laos border. It is known for its vibrant cultural scene and unique historical heritage. Uttaradit has been an important trading center since ancient times, and the ruins of an old fort are still visible today.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Uttaradit is Wat Phra Bat Ngoen Tham Temple. This Buddhist temple dates back to the early 19th century and features a huge golden Buddha statue surrounded by colorful murals. The nearby Phu Soi Dao Wildlife Sanctuary provides visitors with beautiful views of nature, and guided tours are available throughout the year.

The history of Uttaradit can be traced back to over 600 years ago when it was part of Sukhothai Kingdom's northern region. In 1802, King Rama I declared it as a separate province that later became part of Siam (modern-day Thailand). Today, visitors can explore some fascinating historical sites such as Ban Na Ton Chan Palace where King Rama V resided during his visit to Uttaradit in 1897.
