Visit Maha Sarakham
Maha Sarakham is a province located in the Isan region of Thailand. The area is known for its beautiful scenery, with rivers, mountains and forests all close by. The provincial capital, Maha Sarakham, is home to the Maha Sarakham University and several temples.
A popular tourist attraction in the province is Wat Pa Non Sawan, an ancient temple housing an impressive collection of Buddha statues. Not far away is also Phu Phan National Park which has a rich array of wildlife and scenic waterfalls to explore.
Maha Sarakham has had an interesting history since it was founded during the reign of King Chulalongkorn in 1899. It was previously part of Udon Thani Province until it became its own entity in 1971.
