Visit Kanchanaburi


Kanchanaburi is a province in central Thailand, located around 130 kilometers from Bangkok. It is known for its breathtaking nature and rich historical sites.

The most popular tourist attraction in the area is the Bridge over the River Kwai, which was built as part of the infamous Death Railway during World War Two. Visitors can take a boat tour down the river to learn more about its history. Other historical attractions include Hellfire Pass, a former railway cutting site; Kanchanburi War Cemetery, containing graves of Allied prisoners of war who lost their lives during construction of the railway; and JEATH War Museum, an interactive museum dedicated to World War Two history.

Nature lovers will enjoy visiting Saiyok National Park with its stunning waterfalls, hot springs, caves and wildlife watching opportunities. Alternatively they can explore Khao Laem National Park which boasts steep cliffs and beautiful hiking trails leading through lush jungle landscapes that are home to numerous species of birds and butterflies.

Kanchanburi is also home to some of Thailand's oldest Buddhist temples such as Wat Tham Sua temple with its unique reclining Buddha statue or Wat Tham Khao Bin temple perched atop a hill offering spectacular views over the countryside.
