Asolo is a small city located in the province of Treviso, in the northern Italian region of Veneto. It has a population of around 7,500 and sits atop a hill in the foothills of the Alps. With its quaint cobbled streets, vibrant culture and sweeping views over the Venetian Prealps, Asolo makes for an ideal weekend getaway from Venice or Milan. Its rich history dates back to Roman times when it served as an important trading hub on the Via Postumia Roman road network.

The city is full of interesting sites to explore such as its medieval castle and ancient churches that line its main square. Visitors can take time to wander around Asolo's winding streets lined with small boutiques, cafes and restaurants serving up local fare while admiring beautiful views over rolling hillsides dotted with olive groves and vineyards. An active holiday can be had walking trails through nearby Monte Grappa National Park where you'll find plenty of hidden gems like cascading waterfalls set against stunning mountain backdrops.
