Calabria is a region on the southern tip of Italy that is rich in beauty, culture, and history. It is home to stunning coastlines along the Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas, a stunning mountain range known as The Aspromonte, and quaint hillside towns. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Calabria is Tropea, which sits atop a cliff overlooking the sea. There are also many ancient Greek archaeological sites to explore such as Locri Epizephiri and Sibari.

An interesting historical fact about Calabria is that it was formerly part of Magna Grecia (Greater Greece), populated by Greeks in antiquity who established cities such as Reggio di Calabria where you can find evidence of their existence today. Other notable places to visit include Scilla with its picturesque castle and harbor, Pizzo with its famous ice cream shop housed inside an old jailhouse, and Sant'Agata di Esaro for its spectacular views of vineyards over rolling hills.
